The owner of the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh is filing for bankruptcy.
The move comes just hours before a hearing in Winnebago County court that could have seen a receiver appointed to take over the operation of the troubled facility from Fox Valley Pro Basketball and Greg Pierce.
Bayland Buildings is suing Pierce for $13 million in construction loans.
Bayland attorney Steven Krueger is not surprised by the filing. He says they were prepared for it.
Krueger adds it will likely extend the time anyone owed money by the arena group would get paid on past-due debts.
The civil lawsuit filed by Bayland will now be put on hold.
No hearing dates have been set yet in the federal bankruptcy case.
