Life expectancy for people living in Wisconsin is down for the second year in a row.
That information comes from the Wisconsin Policy Forum.
The non-partisan group says alcohol and opioid deaths are major factors.
The group says the state is mirroring a national trend of shorter life expectancies overall.
Drug and alcohol related deaths in Wisconsin have more than tripled since 1999.
The life expectancy for a baby born in Wisconsin between 2015 and 2017 is 80 years, that’s down from 80.2 for babies born two years earlier.
