Fever 333 were set to play the 50 year anniversary of Woodstock. After numerous financial backers, vendors, and bands pulled out, the organizers were forced to cancel the festival. That’s when Fever 333 decided to play in a random parking lot in honor of what “would” have been their Woodstock performance.
“In spirit of WOODSTOCK as well as the beginnings of this project we will be having a pop up festival in lieu of the Woodstock at The Chance Theater (Chance parking lot) in Poughkeepsie, NY. We hope this reminds the community and any others that you do not have to wait and be given permission to activate the change you want to see. We hope this reminds the people of their power. If you cannot join us at this event, we have been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to live broadcast this day for everyone to witness.”
Oh… and after some other bands heard what Fever was doing, they signed on to perform too.
