Teachers from Fox Valley Technical College got to see how controlled fires in fields work.
Wildland Fire Instructor Jon Kellermann helped them set some small fires yesterday to clear fields and restore them. He says a lot of people see fire as a bad thing, but it can be used for good as well.
The teachers were from a variety of different departments at Fox Valley Tech. He thinks it was also a great chance for them to see what he does.
