Here is you Razor Underground Recap for July 28th, 2019.
An ABSOLUTELY STACKED line-up was kicked off by new music from the band Gears. These guys are making a name for themselves as an up-and-coming band and they are doing that with the help of a very special friend, Lajon Witherspoon, vocalist of Sevendust. Their new tune Tango Yankee is a shout-out to all the men and women who serve us, whether they are in the Armed Forces, Police, Firefighters or EMTs. If you are reading this, and that is you, thank you for your service. Check out Tango Yankee below!
Next up, we have something I usually don’t do on Razor Underground. New music came this week from the group Goodwin. Why I say this isn’t something I usually do is because Goodwin is kind of a solo project for Kevin Blake Goodwin. Kevin is renowned for his finger-picking ability on acoustic guitar, but as you will hear, this takes him into harder territory. Check it out.
We push Mental Health awareness hard here on Razor Wisconsin. This is an issue that can never have too much light shed on it, or awareness raised about it. We have all lost people to this problem. If you are suffering, please head HERE. You will find resources and tools that will help you alleviate that suffering. New music came this week from one of my favorite underground bands’ Sunflower Dead. These guys are raising awareness about mental health with their new tune “Turn Away”. Check it out below!
You asked for it, and this week we delivered new music from Issues. These guys had a BLISTERING set at Rock USA and you have been requesting their song “Tapping Out” for awhile! When I heard this song, I knew it had to be on Razor Underground as soon as I could fit it in. pay attention to these guys. They are definitely going places.
Wisconsin is a hot-bed for music. It always has been. A little lesser-known is just how much of a hot-bed Wisconsin is for metal. Enter one of my favorite local Wisco bands to bring more attention to that fact: CASKET ROBBERY! These dudes and their lovely lady vocalist have been shredding, screaming and down right causing chaos for awhile now. I have been eagerly awaiting for the new music they have been working on and this week, they told me all about it. Check out the full interview and their single “From Hell” below!
New music came this week from Remember the Monsters. This band is out of Tuscon, AR and describe their sound as “rock’n’roll with a modern edge”. Take that as you will. To my ears, they have a great djenty tone to their music, but it’s still upbeat. They just groove with their songwriting. The vocals add a layer of emotion that brings it all together. Check out “Sink”!
I introduced you to the band Like Machines this week. Technically, this band used to be called The Stir, however due to legal issues, they were forced to adopt a different moniker. To be honest, I am happy they did. Like Machines is a much better band name. Check out their banger “Destitute” below!
Lastly. we have new music from Cold this week. Seriously. The band Cold. As in Stupid Girl Cold. Yes. That band. Welcome back from Youtube. I decided to give this one a try and I hope you do, as well. Here’s “Without You”.
Razor Underground airs every Sunday night 10pm-12am on Razor 94.7/104.7 and is brought you by Bud Light.
