Here is your Razor Underground Recap for May 26th, 2019.
We started off the show with brand new music from one of my favorite bands, Darkthrone. Their new album “Old Star” drops May 31st via Peaceville Records and is their most thought-out and well-put-together banger in years. The single “Hardship of the Scots” harkens back to everything I love about classic metal. Thrashy and black, it is the Darkthrone I have come to know, love and cherish. Check it out.
My first interview on this episode of Underground came from North Carolina’s Reason Define. As soon as I heard this band, I knew that not only would they become a mainstay on Underground, but that I had to book an interview with them as soon as humanly possible. Between their incredible hooks and raw power, these ladies are not to be stopped. Check out “Pointing Fingers” below!
I’m stoked that I had the opportunity to play the latest from Texas Hippie Coalition. One of those bands that have been killing it on the circuit for YEARS, these guys have never really broken through. It’s a shame, because are an amazing group of dudes who write really groovy tunes. Worshiping at the altars of Southern rock and Pantera, do not sleep on Texas Hippie Coalition.
Last but not least, I had a conversation with new band BRKN LOVE. These dudes are out of Toronto, Ontario. I can’t quite pin down their sound, and that’s something that I THOROUGHLY enjoy that about them. They keep me on my toes. I hope they do the same thing to you.
