Here (finally) is your Razor Underground Recap for April 28th, 2019.
We heard new music from Kirra. These guys are out of Oklahoma City, OK. In 2018, they tragically lost their lead vocalist Jesse Williamson. They persevered and added Gabriel Parsons as the band’s permanent vocalist. I am glad to see the band overcome such a heart-breaking set-back and continue to rock so hard. Check out “Decider” below!
We also heard new music from one of my favorite Portland, OR bands, Lord Dying. These dudes are insane. At one turn aggressive metal, the next a Metallica-loving banger with classic rock passages and vocals that sound eerily similar to Mastodon’s Troy Sanders. These dudes just NAIL IT. Their new albumĀ Mysterium Tremendum is out onĀ Relapse and centers around the concept of Death and the end of life. Trust me. Do not sleep on this band.
I had the opportunity to chat with Matthew DeMar of Divide the Fall. These dudes are all originally from Wisconsin but decided to start the band in Minnesota. We discuss their new tune “I Won’t Fade Away” for which they are running a pre-save campaign on Spotify and Applet Music for.
We wrapped things up with brand new music West Virginia’s Reign of Z. These guys seriously kick ass. Being from West Virginia, I really strive to find as many bands as I can from home and show them to Underground audience. The latest band I have found is Reign of Z. Check these guys out!
