Here is your Razor Underground Recap for January, 27th 2019!
First we debuted new music from the band Commonwealth! These guys hail from Boston, MA and describe themselves as pop-punk. I absolutely fell in love with the melodies of this song and it has a little post-hardcore edge to it. Check it out!
Next, we hop all the way to Charlotte, NC for the band Reason Define. I am huge fan of these ladies! You don’t see a completely female band in rock very often, so when you do, it’s something to celebrate! Check out their song “Pointing Fingers”!
The first interview for this recap comes from my friends in Sunflower Dead. These guys have a new album out in the form of Coma. They dropped the make-up and are focusing on writing incredible songs. Check out my interview with lead vocalist Michael Del Pizzo!
We wrapped up the first hour of the show by introducing you to the band Boston Manor out of the UK. These guys will guesting on the show soon and giving you all the details. For the time being, dig on their tune “Halo”!
We kicked off the second hour with local boys Our Last Vision out of Marinette, WI. These guys are dropping their new EP Cold World at the Lyric Room on April 6th. Details on the show can be found here.
Next, we debuted the latest single from Simple Creatures titled “Drug”. This band is made up of Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus and All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth. While this definitely has tinges of pop-punk flavor, I think this tune finds a life and identity all it’s own. I can’t wait to see what this band does in the future.
The second interview from this episode of Underground comes from the band, Saul. These guys are out of Sioux City, IA and the band is made up of a group of brothers. Their single is also called “Brother” and deals with tragedies the band has faced. Check out our full conversation below!
When the Rock USA lineup was announced, I was stunned and incredibly excited to see how many Razor Underground bands were going to be playing the show. One of bands I am most excited about seeing is Discrepancies. Featuring one of the most up-and-coming lyricists in my opinion, check out their song “Not Alone”. Want to go to Rock USA?
