Picture this, you’re in the crowd at the Five Finger Death Punch / Breaking Benjamin co-headline show in Noblesville, Indiana. The lights go out and the opening riff to “Lift Me Up” starts, but then you see it’s not Ivan Moody on stage, but instead it’s Bad Wolve’s lead singer Tommy Vext. Now flashback to last summer when Tommy actually filled in for Five Finger when Ivan left a tour to enter rehab. Ok so what is going through your head when you see that happen? Luckily it was just a prank by the band. After a bit Ivan ran out from backstage and joined Vext in singing the bands hit song that featured a guest appearance by Judas Priest’s Rob Halford on the original recording. Guitarist Zoltan Bathory tweeted about the prank and included some video.
Hahah 🤣 so tonight when the curtain dropped – we had @TVext standing on stage instead of Ivan 🤣 it was funny as hell – all the confused faces thinking in unison “oh nooo here we go again” 🤣 then Ivan ran out and sang the song with Tommy #5FDPrank pic.twitter.com/14CyOxV8zf
