One of my favorite local bands in the history of Wisconsin is the band 7 Angels 7 Plagues, mainly due to me falling in love with Jesse Zaraska’s voice. 7 Angels and 7 Plagues disbanded, but that disbandment eventually led to the creation of a legendarily heavy band in the form of Misery Signals.
After releasing Of Malice and the Magnum Heart, Jesse left the band. He was replaced by Karl Schubach. Schubach left the band after several releases and Misery Signals went on a hiatus.
Recently, I was surprised to see that Misery Signals was booked to play the Midwest Meltdown Festival in Iowa City, Iowa. I was even more surprised to see that the band was going to be fronted by original lead vocalist Jesse Zaraska! Whilst on stage, Zaraska announced that he and the band were currently in the process of writing a brand new Misery Signals album.
That brings us to today when we received an update on the bands progress.
In a post to his Instagram account, bassist Kyle Johnson shared this post:
No word on when “LP5” will see the light of day or what the official title will be. We will keep you updated as this story develops.
