Last week, Kaytie sat on the bus with Badflower frontman Josh Katz and guitarist Joey Morrow, to discuss their hit single “Ghost,” their upcoming debut album, their performance on James Corden, and more. You can listen to the entire interview above.
When asked about the new single “Ghost,” and what it feels like to play that song over and over:
(It feels) “Good. Really good surprisingly. Because I feed off the energy of the people in the crowd who uh that song is so important to a lot of them. And so its almost like therapy, the same way that writing the song is therapuetic, its like a different form of therapy performing it in front of people and having them react and feed of their energy. I mean its like that with any song, any performance, but THAT song in particular is a very special moment when we get to play that for people.”
On what its like to take on the role of being a voice in the mental health community:
“I think this… the song was never written with the intention of it being what it is and with that happening and we are seeing that that’s happening. But now that it has, I do feel like we’re a worthy group of people to take on that burden, to a degree. I mean we don’t really take on the burden because we’re not on the other line of the suicide prevention call. We just write songs and we give it to people and, um, but there are definitely worse people to have that responsibility than us so I think its cool and I think we’re worthy of it and we deserve it.”
We also discovered that their song “Heroin” is going to be included on the new album and that the video has recently been taken down. More to come…
