Any one who truly knows me knows how much I love PBR.
That stands for Pabst Blue Ribbon for the beer-ignorant. The drink of choice of hipsters, metal-heads and basically anybody who wants cheap beer at their rock show.
Well, according to MSN, Pabst and MillerCoors are going to war over brewing and distribution of some of Pabsts’ signature brands including PBR, Colt. 45 and Old Milwaukee.
A little background might be needed here. Pabst once found itself on the brink of annihilation, but was bounced back into the black by the aforementioned hipsters and metalheads. Well, MillerCoors caught onto this and decided that they could form a bit of an alliance with Pabst. They offered to brew and distribute the beer, which is currently circulating at just over 2.5 million barrels. The agreement is decades old at this point, but MillerCoors wants out when the contract expires in 2020. Needless to say, Pabst doesn’t want that to happen.
A shortage of my drink of choice when I go to concerts may be on the horizon, and that has me worried.
